Google has a new big idea called Project Suncatcher which explores building a powerful computer system in space. The plan uses many small satellites that are powered by the sun, where energy is much stronger and almost continuous. These satellites would hold special computer chips and be connected by light beams, allowing them to work together like one big data center in orbit. This would save resources on Earth. Researchers studied the main problems, like making sure the computer chips can survive space radiation and figuring out how to send information very fast between the satellites. They found the chips are strong enough and that flying the satellites very close together can create fast connections. Because launch costs are dropping, this big idea might become affordable in the future. Google plans to test this by launching two prototype satellites soon.
